Epitalon programA plain-language guide to care questions Chapter index

Can feeling younger qualify?

Ask what the account can pay for.

Insurance and a health spending account are different questions. Get an answer for the exact expense.

The myth

A health spending account can pay for any plan meant to help me feel younger.

Where the promise meets evidence

As of September 26, 2026, general wellness alone does not qualify; an expense to treat an illness diagnosed by a doctor can qualify.

What these accounts mean

Money set aside before tax for medical costs can be held in a health savings account or a flexible spending account.

Ask the person who runs your health spending account about the exact charge. Explain whether it is for a visit, a test or a product. Ask what papers that person needs.

Your health spending account’s manager may request a letter that explains medical need. The IRS, the US tax agency, does not require that letter. This was checked on September 26, 2026.

Get the account’s reply before assuming you can use its money for that charge.

Ask insurance a separate question

Give the plan the name of the service or product. Ask whether the visit is covered. Ask about tests separately. Ask what you would pay yourself.

If someone says the plan will pay, ask the plan to confirm. Request its reply in writing. Keep the answer with the bill.

Do not turn this into an epitalon promise

The FDA, the US drug agency, has approved no US epitalon product as of September 28, 2026.

A general rule about medical costs does not tell you whether your account can pay for a particular epitalon charge. Ask your account’s manager about that exact expense.

If your goal is a medical visit about sleep or another concern, ask about that visit. Keep it separate from any product offer.
